Literature for Life Revamped!

The Womenz Wordz blog continues to give thanks to Literature for Life, a non-profit organization for young mothers as they have supported our Writing Circle, our Reading Circle and the blog project. We are happy to share their success as they’ve recently redesigned their website offering accessible information, blog posts, photos and video detailing their program.

Plus, L4L has launched their own YouTube channel and has featured our very own Rootz Kizzy and Miss Cola with their children. Check out the videos below and hear how Literature for Life has impacted our ladies.

Youth Poetry Slam

The ACCLF Writing Contest Launch and Youth Poetry Slam was held on  Friday December 17, 2010 from 6 – 10 p.m. in Toronto at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) auditorium located at 252 Bloor Street West.

Poets aged 15-24 are welcome to compete in the competition for cash prizes totalling $500! Contestants can sign up at the door between 6-7pm or email online info@acclf.com. There’s a $5 registration fee.

The event will be hosted by aka Subliminal and feature performances by Urban Arts including music by Roots Redemption.
