EarthQuake

By: Whitney

I

this boy always giving me problems

but non of that matters

when the ground shakes

and the girls next door whisper of

earthquakes

newstation shooting bullets of panic through my chest

my legs paining from shaking

in Toronto never imaged

that type of a quake

to disrupt

his insult is lost in a rumble and his voice

membles into a silent fear

we hear nothing but

hearts beating

and fear grows up into realities

my mind races to touch the ones

I love

or even hate, not even this boy deserves this fate

this fear in his hear when we both felt

the earth

quake.

II

earth quake, birth shake

balancing off the centre of my centre

different shakes that I know but

an earth’s quake’s shakes is unknown

fear vibration penetrating this body

shaken by something else wholly

Mother Earth will not unearth me

quietly
